Welcome Home Event Showcases Local Flavor and Sweet Surprises

On September 4, the campus community gathered for the annual Welcome Home event, a celebration of local partnerships, wellness, and sustainable dining. Attendees were treated to samples from regional favorites like Narragansett Creamery and Boston Food Hub, while Red’s Best Seafood offered educational insights into sustainable fishing practices.
The event also featured interactive stations focused on our dining and meal options, health and wellness, and sustainability, creating a space for meaningful conversations and discovery.
A standout moment came from Sweet Loren’s, who debuted their new Salted Caramel Chocolate cookie to enthusiastic reviews. The indulgent yet better-for-you treat added a sweet twist to the day’s offerings, perfectly aligning with the event’s theme of mindful enjoyment.
Our in-house culinary team complemented the experience with delicious bites from Lemon & Olive in the hive that highlighted innovation and nourishment. Altogether, the Welcome Home event was a flavorful and thoughtful kickoff to the fall semester, blending delicious food with purpose-driven engagement.
